RATIA x Black Moda

We went to see Black Moda on a lovely Autumn day in Pirkanmaa. We were treated to a tour of the brand new Black Moda offices, and afterwards we enthusiastically poured over the new product line for Spring 2019.

Black Moda is a Finnish textile company, founded in 1996. It is a family business, which has succeeded for three generations now. Their history is full of determination and brave entrepreneurship.

Black Moda Oy is one of the oldest partners of RATIA. Our collaboration began in the late 1990s, when Black Moda's CEO Marko Keski-Vähälä contacted Ristomatti Ratia and suggested a partnership. Soon afterwards Black Moda began manufacturing bathrobes, towels and sleepwear, all of which have found their place in Finnish hearts.

During these years the successful partnership between RATIA and Black Moda has been growing. Today, the products include RATIA daywear, leather bags and interior textiles, in addition to RATIA bath products and sleepwear.

We were more than happy with our visit, which included some talk about future plans. All we can reveal at the moment is that RATIA daywear line will expanding in Spring 2019, which makes us very excited.
